Jewish Response Uganda (JRU) is a registered Ugandan NGO (Registration Number 2924). It was incorporated on 15 September 2017 in response to persistent challenges of abject poverty, mind set of fatalism and dependency, and disunity faced by the Jewish community in Uganda (Abayudaya). JRU is not affiliated with any particular Jewish movement or community. For the past eight years, JRU has been active in Budaka, Kibuku, Pallisa, Mbale, Butebo, Bukedea, and Namutumba districts. Specifically, JRU implements activities in Buseta, Nalubembe, Nasenyi, Kamonkoli, Namabasa, Kakoro, Kachumbala, and Magada. JRU supports Jewish and non-Jewish participants in its projects and initiatives. JRU’s primarily focuses on delivering profitable agricultural livelihood project, building stronger families, and education support in these locations.
