FAMILY STRENGTHENING

Our family strengthening approach is centered on creating a supportive and non-judgmental environment, fostering open communication, and empowering families to overcome challenges. We believe that every family has the potential to thrive, and we are committed to supporting them every step of the way including but not limited to the following:-

Psychosocial Support for Families

Our organization is committed to strengthening families through various support programs. We offer group, couple, and individual counselling sessions to help family members build stronger relationships and address challenges.

Counselling Sessions

Our social workers work with couples to foster healthy relationships by exploring aspects such as good communication, showing appreciation, and conflict resolution. Through sharing experiences, role-playing, and interactive illustrations, couples learn effective ways to communicate and strengthen their bond.

Counselling Sessions

In individual counselling, our social worker supports parents in addressing personal challenges and encourages them to prioritize their mental health and self-care. This enables them to fulfill their family responsibilities more effectively.

Group Sessions

Our group sessions bring together participants with similar challenges, providing a platform for sharing experiences, ideas, and solutions. This social support network helps families feel less isolated and more empowered to tackle their challenges.

Parenting Teenagers

We offer guidance and support for parents with teenage children, focusing on effective communication strategies and understanding their unique needs. Our social worker advises parents to pay attention to their children's feelings and ask open-ended questions to build stronger relationships

Group Counselling Sessions

Our social worker organizes group sessions for male and female participants, providing a platform for sharing challenges and ideas. We discuss parenting styles, share life skills, and foster a sense of belonging and mutual support.

Home Visitations

Our social worker visits each family for two hours every week, providing guidance and support on parenting skills, and helping families set goals and plans. These visits have helped build trust and allowed families to prepare for the visits

Parenting Skills Development

Our social worker shares knowledge on parenting with participants, helping them learn different skills such as effective communication, positive discipline, and emotional regulation. Parents have gained a deeper understanding of child development principles and age-appropriate milestones.

Farming Initiative

While building stronger families, we also integrate the component of food security and growing profitable crops. Our social workers engage the families to identify land for farming, provide the families with farm inputs and our agronomist train them in farming techniques. This initiative aims to promote food security and income generation for families alongside working on their relationship because some of factors leading to poor relationship is failure to provide for the family due to low family income level.
